Belgian start-up Menu Next Door raises 1.75 million euros
After a launch in Paris at the beginning of the year, the amateur chefs platform continues its momentum and has just concluded an important stage in its development. An important stage and above all well-crafted, since it is very rare to see foreign funds and especially of this caliber invest so much in a Belgian start-up at this stage of development. Because let’s remember that Menu Next Door is not yet generating profits, a 15% commission is envisaged in the future, but is not yet current. According to Nicolas Van Rymenant, the development of the community and the two new cities (Paris and London) are the start-up’s priority.
The new investors include Index Ventures (Criteo, Soundcloud, BlaBlaCar, Dropbox, etc.), Kim Ventures, the fund led by Xavier Niel, The Family and Local Globe. All for an amount of 1.75 million euros which benefits the new structure based across the Channel, created for the occasion, which will now oversee the various entities.
The money raised will be used to support the expansion and international development of the start-up. The launch in Paris is so far on track with more than 45,000 active users and the London launch began last Friday. Everything is now in place to move up a gear for Nicolas Van Rymenant and his teams.
