Belgian start-up Ontoforce raises 2.1 million euros
Belgian start-up Ontoforce, behind the intelligent search engine Disqover, has raised €2.1 million in a new funding round. The Ghent-based company found the right combination of investors in the American fund Life Science Innovation Fund (LSIF) and business angels Luc Vauterin and Torsten Osthus. Existing shareholders LRM and the Sofi fund also participated in the new capital raising.
The company will use the additional capital to expand into the U.S. market and attract additional developers and data scientists.
The Disqover semantic search platform is now in its final testing phase at two of the world’s largest biotech companies. A global deployment across both companies is planned within the next 6 months.
The intelligent search engine developed by the start-up not only breaks down the barriers between internal data sources, but also over 100 public sources and makes them accessible via an intuitive search platform.
