Belgian start-up UXprobe wins €100,000 grant via CreatiFi

UXprobe, a Belgian start-up that measures and improves user experience, has won a €100,000 grant from CreatiFI – the European accelerator for creative industries. Among the 126 projects that participated, CreatiFi selected the 9 best proposals. UXprobe has developed an innovative, fast and easy-to-use system for testing the usability of websites and applications: “UXvue”. The grant will be used to launch “UXvue” on the market.

“UXvue” allows companies to test the usability of their website or application: “Is the site easy to use? Are users satisfied?”, etc.
“Usually, to know if a software or even an object is easy to use, we do a series of tests in a ‘laboratory’. But these tests are very limited, geographically and in time! ‘UXvue’ is much simpler and faster; by clicking on a link, users can test the site or application directly where they are, on the street, at home or at work. With the support of the CreatiFI ecosystem, I was able to go from an initial idea to a working prototype; and now we are integrating this new service within UXprobe itself. Soon, we will be able to offer it to our customers. It’s incredible!”, says Jan Moons, user experience expert and co-founder of UXprobe.

In the first phase, CreatiFI – one of FIWARE’s 16 accelerators – supported 59 companies in Europe to transform a business idea into a working prototype. In the second phase, CreatiFI looked for services and applications that were both innovative and more mature and could have a real impact on the creative business sector.

CreatiFI will support UXprobe in the commercialization of their new system “UXvue”. The start-up will receive intensive coaching on go-to-market strategies and preparation to manage future investments.
“‘UXvue’ was selected because this project significantly improves the workflow and offers a real efficiency gain for creative professionals who want to test their user experience”, explains Ingrid Willems, project manager for FIWARE at iMinds – incubator and digital research center of the Flemish region.

And the good news doesn’t stop there for UXprobe. In January, after two years of incubation in the protected world of Startit@KBC, the start-up becomes independent and moves into new offices in Winkelhaak (Antwerp). With a growing team, a well-filled roadmap and this “UXvue” project ready to be launched, 2016 already promises to be a prolific year.
