Belgian startup Menu Next Door sets out to conquer Paris
Menu Next Door has invented a new takeaway model at home that breaks some rules. Gourmet customers are invited to meet the chefs at home, in their kitchen, to collect their menus. The dishes offered are diverse, quality and prepared by individuals who are passionate about cooking, whether professional or amateur.
Each menu is posted on the website www.menunextdoor.com. All menus can be ordered directly on the website and all gourmet customers can, if they wish, share their experience by posting comments and evaluations below the menus and the chefs’ profiles!
The experience is more than conclusive. “We have already sold the equivalent of nearly 20,000 meals since the launch of Menu Next Door in the Brussels region,” rejoices Nicolas Van Rymenant, its founder. “The growth is very fast. Last month, we recorded more than 100,000 visits to our site and the startup has hundreds of requests from chefs.”
Nicolas Van Rymenant wants to create the same excitement and make Menu Next Door a success in Paris, which has a huge market potential for the startup. The Facebook group of Menu Next Door – Paris, which groups posts with photos of the menus offered and the chefs in the kitchen, already has more than 20,000 people in just two days, a good start.
Nicolas will also be able to count on the community of Parisian entrepreneurs well known in the world of start-ups ‘TheFamily’ of which Menu Next Door is a part as well as on a new team that he will recruit for the French market.
