Facebook to conquer millennials

Facebook may be the leader in social networks, but Snapchat remains the favorite of teenagers. That’s why Mark Zuckerberg’s company wants to win back this generation of users and is launching Lifestage, a mobile application for iOS.

Lifestage invites teenagers to share selfies and videos, Snapchat-style, with their contacts. The application aims to be an innovative tool to expand one’s social circle in a school environment.

By joining a community, users discover the profiles of students from the same school or other nearby schools… A sort of return to the roots for Facebook, which was initially created to connect members of the same university. Lifestage is currently available on iOS in the United States.

It remains to be seen whether this application, exclusively reserved for “millennials”, will be able to recover the 3 million users aged 13 to 17 that Facebook lost between 2011 and 2014.
